Delivered as a capability, not a catalogue

Most of the infrastructure Africa will use this decade already exists; the question is what condition it will be in. We rehabilitate and modernise plants, equipment and institutional facilities, extending asset life and restoring capacity at a fraction of replacement cost.

1. 01Replacement is not the only answer to ageing assets, and it is rarely the affordable one. Much of the capacity institutions and industries need is already installed; it is simply tired, obsolete in places, or held back by constraints that engineering can remove.
2. 02Modernisation treats the existing estate as capital to be recovered: assessed honestly, rehabilitated where viable, re-equipped where necessary and automated where it pays, so facilities return to reliable service for a fraction of new-build cost.
